“It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be tomorrow.” — James Madison

“Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”:    Don’t Use the Military to Advance a Political Agenda – petition
June 8, 2010
Two weeks ago, the House of Representatives voted to tack the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) revocation onto the Defense Authorization bill–a legislative trick designed to give protective cover to Members of Congress who don’t wish to go on record as voting for open homosexuality in the military. The Senate Armed Services Committee did the same.
Now, many members of the U.S. Senate who have not decided how they will vote will be placed under immense political pressure to vote for sending vital supplies and armaments to our troops while downplaying the fact that the needs of our brave men and women in uniform are being used as a pretext to advance a radical social-political agenda.
President Obama and the Congressional leadership have chosen to ignore the planned year-long study of the policy by the military, along with grave concerns from all four of the military service chiefs, about the ramifications of overturning the law. They have, in effect, told our qualified military leaders to shut up and conform.

“Never Again”: Obama and the BP Oil Spill  – video
The Sestak Affair
By Douglas J. Hagmann, Director           29 May 2010
Due to the recent equivocations from the Obama White House and the apparent unwillingness by the mainstream media to investigate this matter, the majority of Americans are unaware of the seriousness of the Obama administration’s alleged actions involving Joseph Sestak.  If proven, the reported actions of the Obama administration are clear violations of three federal laws[i].  The impact and fallout from documented violations, as well as the refusal of the Holder Justice Department to appoint a Special Counsel to investigate this matter, have the potential to eclipse the Watergate scandal of the early 1970’s – it is that serious.

Call for Obama’s resignation cites ‘deceit, fraud, dishonesty’
By Bob Unruh          June 08, 2010
A retired U.S. military leader who now is a presence on the Internet with his Stand Up For America and Veterans Defenders websites has issued a call for President Obama’s resignation and a new election to replace him.
The call comes from Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, who served in Vietnam and retired in 1991 from the U.S. Army as deputy commanding general for the Pacific.
“We now must call for the immediate resignation of Barry Soetero (AKA President Barack Hussein Obama) … based on incompetence, deceit, fraud, corruption, dishonesty and violation of the U.S. oath of office and the Constitution,” he said in remarks delivered to a Lincoln Reagan dinner in Virginia City, Mont., last week and published today on the Stand Up America website.
“And a call for a national petition for new elections to select the next president of the United States of America must be initiated,” he continued. “We can wait no longer for a traditional change of power and new government.”

Did Ground Zero Mosque Founder Lie to New Yorkers?  Is Real Goal is Sharia Not “Religious Dialogue”?  – video
Former terrorist Walid Shoebat, reveals disturbing contradictions between Ground Zero mosque founder Imam Faisal Abdul Rauf’s English statements and his Arabic comments. Abdul Rauf directly contradicted his New York Daily News article from earlier this week, and, in the process, lied to New York City about his true intentions.

Feds: States’ growing gun-rights movement a threat
By Bob Unruh      May 20, 2010
The federal government is arguing in a gun-rights case pending in federal court in Montana that state plans to exempt in-state guns from various federal requirements themselves make the laws void, because the growing movement certainly would impact “interstate commerce.”
The government continues to argue to the court that the Commerce Clause in the U.S. Constitution should be the guiding rule for the coming decision. The argument plays down the significance of both the Second Amendment right to bear arms and the 10th Amendment provision that reserves to states all prerogatives not specifically granted the federal government in the Constitution.
U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade
The proposed treaty is opposed by conservative U.S. think tanks like the Heritage Foundation, which said last month that it would not restrict the access of “dictators and terrorists” to arms but would be used to reduce the ability of democracies such as Israel to defend their people.
A resolution before the U.N. General Assembly is sponsored by seven nations including major arms exporter Britain. It calls for preparatory meetings in 2010 and 2011 for a conference to negotiate a treaty in 2012.

U.N. sanctions loophole: Russia can send missiles to Iran
By Bill Gertz, Eli Lake                  May 21, 2010
A draft U.N. resolution that would impose sanctions on Iran, including limits on global arms transfers, will not block the controversial transfer of Russian S-300 missiles to the Iranian military, according to U.S. and Russian officials.

Uncovered Audio: Obama’s Regulatory Czar Pushes Plan for Legally Controlling Information
By: Admin Post         5-17-2010
In an audio excerpt of an interview, Sunstein discusses how conservative websites should provide links to liberal websites and vice versa or even how political blogs should be made to include pop ups that show “a quick argument for a competing view”.
Sunstein said that if this system couldn’t be implemented voluntarily, “Congress should hold hearings about mandates,” which would legally force people to dilute their own free speech.

Free Press goes all-in on censorship
by Neil Stevens      June 1, 2010
It’s now out in the open: the Internet censors are on the march. The neo-Marxists at Free Press promised us that Net Neutrality had nothing to do with censorship. But as I’ve warned, once the FCC did their Title II Deem and Pass reclassification of ISPs as phone companies, in direct contravention of the Telecommunications Act, censorship was fully within their reach.
Even as Republicans have come out strongly against the FCC’s excesses and opposition is even growing from House Democrats, with total opposition now accounting for a majority of the House, Free Press and their pet commissioner Michael Copps are trying to control the whole Internet in the name of preventing “hate speech.”

‘These people want empire’:  The New World Disorder
By Bob Unruh        June 01, 2010
The goal of the Bilderbergers, those powerful elite who are invited annually to a private and protected meeting from which world events are steered, is power, plain and simple, according to an author who spoke on the subject today before the European Parliament.
But Daniel Estulin, author of the hot-selling book,  “The True Story of the Bilderberg Group,” said in the text of his remarks that he believes the very efforts by the power-hungry to manipulate the world economy is awakening the masses, who now have an opportunity to change history and give mankind back its future.

Bilderberg: Global cabal pushes agenda before meeting in Sitges, Spain
By James P. Tucker, Jr.
Bilderberg-controlled news outlets in Europe and the Western Hemisphere are conditioning the public to accept two of the super-secret elite’s major goals in advance of its meeting June 4-7 in Sitges, Spain: a U.S. attack on Iran and a financial bailout of Greece and other European Union (EU) countries.

But even before the Bilderberg group gathered behind the sealed-off, guarded Dolce Hotel in Sitges, a resort community 12 miles from Barcelona, resistance to throwing more tax dollars at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to bail out Europe sprang up in Congress….

The Bilderberg-controlled Washington Post called for making the IMF a “global overseer” on May 20. Bilderberg is exploiting the financial crisis in Greece and other EU countries to advance efforts to make the IMF a world Treasury Department under the UN.

Canada reconsidering health-care model in face of soaring costs
by Ed Morrissey       June 1, 2010
American fans of single-payer health care have long held Canada as an example of success in both providing health care and controlling costs.  Canadians have more reason to question both, however, especially the latter.  The provinces, which bear a significant portion of those costs, may end some services and curtail others as ballooning costs have exposed the cradle-to-grave system as unsustainable:
Obamacare’s True Costs Coming to Light
 June 2, 2010
Remember how President Barack Obama promised that his health care plan would reduce the deficit and put us on a path towards fiscal responsibility? Remember how Congress kept gaming the system to come up with the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) score that could justify those claims? Well, now that Obamacare has become (hopefully only temporarily) the law of the land, the CBO is singing a slightly different tune….
And there is ample evidence that the CBO may be underestimating Obamacare’s true costs. Ethics and Public Policy Center Fellow James Capretta details:
-Omission of the Medicare “Doc Fix.”
-The CLASS Act Gimmick.
-Medicare Cuts.
-Estimates of Employees Dropped from Job-Based Coverage.

There’s a New Culture War & We’re Losing It
by  Newt Gingrich       06/02/2010
In The Battle: How the Fight Between Free Enterprise and Big Government Will Shape America’s Future, Arthur Brooks argues that the new culture war in America is not over guns, gay marriage or abortion, but instead between a socialist redistributionist minority (the 30% coalition) and a massive free-enterprise, work-ethic, opportunity-oriented majority (the 70% majority.)

Yet, despite the overwhelming majority of Americans who believe in free enterprise, the Left’s dominance of the intellectual upper class (opinion makers like the news media, academia, and the entertainment industry) has enabled the minority to dominate the majority.

They have been able to dominate because they are professionals at using words.  They use the language of morality to achieve their redistributionist ends while those who favor freedom, individual opportunity, the right to pursue happiness, and personal liberty have been maneuvered to a series of banal and ultimately unattractive positions in the public debate.

The Left speaks in the language of right and wrong, of equality and inequality, while the leaders of the free-enterprise majority speak in the dry language of economics.  Thus, despite the overwhelming majority in America who support the tenants of free enterprise, the Left is winning both elections and the hearts of America’s young people, who did not live through the Cold War and shockingly view socialism almost as favorably as they view capitalism.
